From the depths of Colorado's local trap metal scene, Kill Dyll has cultivated an impressive social following through horror-infused aesthetics and intense performances. Amassing substantial growth across Spotify (510k), TikTok (672k), and Instagram (393k), he has curated a distinct artistic identity, fusing the bass intensity of trap music with the grotesque. His content, often imbued with sardonic humor, depicts him engaged in seemingly average daily activities—exercise or working on music aside his cat—while garbed in unsettling masks and horror-themed attire. This dichotomy between his on-screen persona and his reserved off-screen demeanor is a crucial element of his allure to his audience, who find him both amusing and endearing.

During a virtual interview last summer, Kill Dyll presented a demeanor markedly different from his stage presence. When asked about the liberating effect of his masked persona, he offered this insight: "My family has always been into music. My father and brother are both musicians, but they both play instruments. That wasn’t really for me, but I still felt that desire, I guess you could call it, to create music. I just did my own thing, starting by making beats for myself for the gym, and it’s grown from there." Further describing how his performative persona has helped him work through anxiety and self-consciousness, Kill Dyll revealed the therapeutic role of music in overcoming his inhibitions. He articulated appreciation for his fanbase, explaining that he finds the resonance his fans have with his music, as they bear with their anxiety and life challenges, "meaningful."

We discussed the prospect of blending trap metal with deathcore or metalcore through a collaboration, to which Kill Dyll expressed his openness: "If the right opportunity comes up with a band, then yeah, I’d consider it.” This immediately conjured in my mind, the prospect of a track with California's Reminitions, a deathcore band whose thematic exploration of horror aligns with Kill Dyll's artistic style. Such a collaboration would interest audiences appreciative of the visual aesthetics of horror who listen to trap metal and other metal subgenres. Reminitions, if you're reading, you should connect.

Dyll’s strength in weaving his general daily life with the macabre has resonated deeply with his audience, who find his authenticity and unconventional expression both amusing and endearing. He is an artist whose position as an emerging top artist within the trap metal scene demonstrates continued growth within the subgenre. His rise has also been marked by signing to Warner Records, a feat that few local scene artists experience. Listen to his latest release, “Start To Bleed,” which debuted March 7, 2025, and has already accumulated 227K streams.
